Time to Get Wild!

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak is an adventurous fable that takes Max into a magical land where he becomes king of the Wild Things! In this At Home Series episode, we will discover how to make a sensory bin straight from the wild land!

Here are the things you will need for this project:

1. 1 Small box

2. Green paint

3. Green Construction Paper

4. Milk Duds

5. Dirt

6. Scissors

7.1 Paper Towel Roll

8. Permanent Marker

9. Paint Brush

10. 1 Clothespin

11. 1 Yellow Pipe Cleaner

Paint the inside of your box green and let dry. Next cut the leaves out of the green construction paper. Cut two slits to fit onto the paper towel rolls.

Cut the paper towel roll to make two small trees. Fit leaves on top. Set aside. Next, take your yellow pipe cleaner and twirl it around the clothespin to look like a crown. Draw two eyes and a smile on your clothespin with your permanent marker. Lastly put your dirt in the bottom of the sensory bin and scatter milk duds on top of the dirt to give it a 3-D look. Finally, write 'Where the Wild Things Are' on the top flap of the sensory bin. Enjoy your sensory play!
